Exit WhatsApp group without alerting everyone

This would mean that any messages sent to the group you are trying to avoid, won’t be registered in your notifications. Your phone won’t vibrate or make noise when you receive a new message. How to mute WhatsApp group notifications
Step 1: Open your phone and tap on WhatsApp.
Step 2: Tap and hold the WhatsApp group chat you want to silence.
Step 3: Tap the mute icon. (You see the mute icon–a speaker with a line through it, appear at the top of the chat list.)
Step 4: Now you have to select a duration. (You will not receive new notifications from this group chat for the amount of time you select.)
