Latest WhatsApp iOS Update: You Can Now Disable Read Receipts For Voice Messages
The Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is one app that constantly keeps on updating its app for seamless messaging for its users
In its latest update, WhatsApp has released a new update for its iOS users that gives them the ability to disable read receipts for voice messages
With this new update, iOS users can now disable read receipts for voice messages which are also commonly referred to as voice notes.
Prior to this latest update, WhatsApp never had the option to disable the ‘blue ticks’ from voice notes sent on individual chats even if your Read Receipts option was off.
Despite the read receipts being disabled, the voice notes sent over personal chats did not support the feature of blue ticks turned off. So, every time you send a voice clip over, you will be able to see its ticks turn blue once the receiver hears it.
However, with this new feature you can disable read receipts, if you don’t want the sender to see if you have listened to the voice message/note.
To disable read receipts on WhatsApp for iOS devices, this is what you need to do;
- Go to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy>Read Receipts
The latest update is now readily available on the Apple App Store and it comes as version 2.22.40 on iOS.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on introducing new features to its app in an effort to enhance the overall user experience. For example, WhatsApp is finally enabling the possibility to import custom third party animated sticker packs in the app
