Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Sign Podcast Deal
Would you like to hear the thoughts and voices of the royals in a podcast? Well, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just landed an exclusive Spotify podcast deal.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will add their voices to uplift and entertain audiences in a new podcast launching later this month with a holiday special. On Tuesday, Spotify announced a partnership with the couple, according to CNN. “Spot Tuesday an exclusive partnership with Archewell Audio, a new, audio-first production company founded by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”
The royal couple signed with Spotify through a newly formed production company, Archewell Audio, with Spotify-owned studio Gimlet producing the show in partnership with Archewell Audio.
It thrills Harry and Meghan to take on this new opportunity. In a statement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said, “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen to connect to one another without distraction. With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
Rumors swirled that they would premiere a reality show with Netflix, however, they shut that down. Netflix addressed the speculation, “The couple already has several projects in development, including an innovative nature docuseries and an animated series that celebrates inspiring women, but we are not disclosing any of the programming slate at this time.”
In a statement made to The New York Times, the couple expressed, “Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”
