Whatsapp Latest Updates: What’s Changing And What’s Not
Whatsapp allegedly asked users to share data with Facebook hence the loss of customers.
WhatsApp has time and again reiterated that that personal messages will always be end-to-end encrypted and the company cant read or listen to them.
Zeebiz reports that in a blogpost WhatsApp said:
Your acceptance of the new Terms of Service does not expand WhatsApp’s ability to share user data with its parent company Facebook, says the company.
If a user chooses to click on ads shown on Facebook/Instagram, it could be used to personalize the ads you see on Facebook, but neither Facebook nor WhatsApp can see the content of any end-to-end encrypted messages.
It has said that support to talk to businesses on WhatsApp will be entirely optional. Users can interact with companies and brands on WhatsApp only if they want and it will not share number of users with any company/brand, it said.
